Ten years of adventures in poetry 2008 - 2018

Saturday 23rd June 2018 at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Birmingham.

Events running from 1.30pm - 8.30pm

1.30 - 3pm The Big Read In: With Jacqueline Saphra and Roz Goddard - Readers and Readers' Groups alike are welcome to join us for a lively discussion with poet Jacqueline Saphra of her TS Eliot Prize shortlisted poetry book, All My Mad Mothers, complete with a live reading. Jacqueline will be in conversation with Roz Goddard.

1.30pm - 3.30pm Jo Bell workshop: Conversations: Much of our writing happens as a conversation with others. We absorb and respond to other poets (alive or dead); we write about actual or imagined conversations; and we’re constantly talking to ourselves. This workshop will provide an opportunity to explore some of the forms that allow us the fullest freedom to express what we want to say in private or public. Join poet Jo Bell for this special two-hour workshop. (Please note, workshop places are not included in General Admission all day ticket. Limited numbers of workshop tickets will be available, so please book in advance.)

4.00 - 5.30pm Launch of Josephine Corcoran's debut poems What are You After? - with readings by Josephine Corcoran and special guests Rishi Dastidar, Jackie Wills and Suzannah Evans.

6.30pm - 8.30pm The Nine Arches Press Birthday Mixtape: in the Jazz Club at the Conservatoire with performances of favourite Nine Arches Press poetry chosen by the poets themselves - come and enjoy a finely mixed cocktail of poetry and celebration! With poets inc. Rishi Dastidar, Tania Hershman, Jo Bell, Jacqueline Saphra, Josephine Corcoran, Roy McFarlane, David Clarke, Suzannah Evans, Sarah James, and more TBC...

Please note: General Admission tickets give you access to the live poetry events with the exception of Jo Bell's poetry workshop which will be sold separately (please purchase the General admission+workshop tickets, which will be on sale from 23 May)
