Description

Ten Years On... The development, role and future of the Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (CAAP).

This one-day conference style event, organised by the National CAAP Forum, will be held on Thursday 17th August 2017, at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. This CPD day, in association with NHS Tayside and hosted by Dundee University Medical School, will be themed around 'The development, role and future of the Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology' (CAAP). There will be opportunity to hear from speakers with a range of backgrounds and interests, reflecting the variety of work undertaken by CAAPs now, and over the past ten years.

The schedule for this event, for the purpose of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), will include presentations about the Scottish Government's new Mental Health Strategy 2017-2027, and so-called 'therapist drift' in delivering evidence-based psychological therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

We are also inviting poster presentations to be displayed over the course of the day which attendees can browse between sessions. Please contact the organisers if you would like to bring a poster to this event. It will be a chance to hear from colleagues about work that they have been undertaking, with a strong emphasis on themes of clinical relevance, research and theory, and service development.
