Tennyson's Totland Anecdotes
Moving through the estate at Farringford, once home to poet Alfred Lord Tennyson, we walk on towards the village of Totland. Taking his favourite walking routes, our walk passes lesser known places visited by and connected with the poet, hearing about the stories hidden within this beautiful landscape.

Pace of Walk: Gentle - This walk will follow a gentle pace.
Walk grade: Fairly Easy - Gentle, rolling landscape, walking on paths with good to average surfaces. Some walking on gentle inclines, some stiles or steps to be expected en route.
Mobility level: Suitable for a person with sufficient mobility to climb a flight of steps but would benefit from fixtures and fittings to aid balance.

Nearest Bus Stop:
The Needles Breezer tour bus (Mar-Oct), the No. 12 and the ‘FYT’ bus, all stop near Dimbola (Gate Lane stop). The No. 7 also stops in Freshwater (15 mins walk). Check your route: islandbuses.info.
