Why join a TRE session?

Join a session to learn a simple series of exercises to gently release stress and muscular tension from the body through the activation of its natural shaking reflex (self-induced therapeutic tremors).When this shaking mechanism is activated in a safe environment, the body is encouraged to return to a state of balance. If you're feeling stressed, overwhelmed or weighed down by the memory of a traumatic experience, TRE can help you regulate your nervous systems and find a deep sense of relaxation and relief

What is TRE?

Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®) is a set of exercises that assists the body to release stress, tension and trauma through its natural shaking or tremor reflex.

Tremors take us out of the fight-flight-freeze loop, helping to regulate our nervous systems and causing a deep sense of relaxation. After doing TRE, many people report feelings of peace and well-being.

TRE has been used for decades worldwide by people working in high stress environments (such as the military, police forces and fire services, etc) as well as victims of war, natural disasters and other traumatising events.

This non-verbal self-help practice is now being embraced by everyday people.

Once you have developed confidence in this simple yet powerful practice, you will be able to tremor at any time in the comfort of your home or return to our regular sessions to shake alongside others. Click here to watch a 3 minute animated explanation of TRE.

What happens at a session?

Each session is different, but all my sessions involve:

  • A simple grounding practice to help connect you to sensation and the space
  • 7 simple exercise designed to gently fatigue and stretch big muscle groups so that you can reconnect to the tremor reflex
  • Time to relax, reflect and integrate the tremor experience before you leave the session.

Advisory Information

  • Suitable for all levels, from regular shakers to those completely new to TRE.
  • Please dress in comfortable clothing, ideally with some layers up top as you may feel a little cold after the tremoring.
  • All participants must be over 18 years old.
  • All equipment will be provided, including mats and blankets.
  • A group class is not recommended for anyone with severe trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, burnout and serious health conditions or those who find it very challenging to self-regulate (unable to calm down when emotionally distressed).
  • Group sessions are not suitable if you are pregnant. If you have had a recent operation, surgery or recently experienced a serious injury, it is best to allow yourself a minimum of 3 months before joining a session.

Cancellation and Exchange Policy

There is a 48 hours notice cancellation policy - no cancellation is available after 7:30pm two days before the event. If you would like to give your ticket to another named participant you must inform me by email at least 24 hours before the event.
