Terminus
Event Information
About this Event
This Zoom-produced thriller brought praise and accolades galore when released in January of this year. Back by popular demand, we are pleased to release Terminus to the public for a further week. Do check out some of our reviews - or watch our feature on BBC Points West - see link below.
And in case you're new to Terminus - or want a reminder of what is in store:
A confused older woman reads a letter from her son. On the platform at Diss station a married woman waits to meet her lover off the 9.30 from Liverpool Street. At Norwich terminus, a surprisingly posh ice-cream vendor talks to a schoolgirl and looks forward to greeting an old friend off the same train. The driver makes a series of increasingly odd announcements over the public address system. On the train a female executive edits the keynote speech she is giving that morning to her new team; a disturbed and aggressive man rehearses meeting up with his girlfriend; a bored child whinges to her father about her younger brother; an affable man chats up the woman sitting opposite him; an American student gossips with a friend on her mobile phone; a young man is on-line to the girlfriend in Norwich he met on the Internet.
The audience is faced with a number of puzzles.
Who are these people, both seen and unseen?
What exactly is happening on that train ? What is it that binds them together? A number of key ‘reveals’ help the audience join the dots between the characters.

We weren't able to watch Terminus until this evening, but I'm really glad we did. It was a powerful show, and you collectively exploited the difficulties and singularities of a Zoom-based production brilliantly. The tension was admirable, the characters fascinating, and the writing genuinely gripping. It must have been a massive task to rehearse and put together. I'm full of admiration.
We've just finished watching Terminus. We really enjoyed it, so clever, everything, the script, the art work, and the cast, excellent!
It’s so brilliant!! So utterly slick and clever and brilliant! I cried! Amazing thing. Congratulations. What a fab cast, Music at end so fitting, and the graphics were amazing!! Such an inventive piece of work. And ‘We were like pen pals who just ran out of ink’ is a GREAT line. Bravo!
I watched Terminus yesterday and found it absorbing. I had to work quite hard to fit characters' stories together. Excellent performances and a real gathering of tension. ...........I thought the background graphics were brilliant. What a great project to mount at this time!
Just watched Terminus. What a film! It is brilliant! The Zoom version comes across even better than the stage show, doesn’t it? It really works. The actors were excellent and so were the graphics but everything combined to show off the high calibre of the script. The whole thing is real quality. It's a triumph! And I’m not just saying that. Well done!!
We... both enjoyed watching Terminus last night. We both found it a little difficult to follow initially but as we got into it and starting making some connections it became intriguing to see how it would unwind and end. The production, direction, script, filming, sets and acting were innovative and great. Well done to you, Al and all your team on a great production.

Finding ourselves with a rare evening at home last night we decided to watch Terminus! I have to say we really enjoyed it. Many congratulations! It worked really well as a Zoom production - possibly even better than on stage. Can only imagine the huge amount of work that went into it. A big thank you and well done to you and all concerned! We look forward to the next one!
