Join Studio HOIME at White Finch Bakery to make your own large Terrarium. Everything you'll need is provided including, a large glass vessel, five layers of growing media, a choice of succulent plants, pebbles and tools.

You will leave with a beautiful, easy-to-care-for, open terrarium to display in your home. You will be given step-by-step guidance by Nikki (founder of Studio HOIME) and any hands on assistance you may need. Use this as an opportunity to take time for yourself or share the experience with a friend or loved one.

This workshop is suitable for all levels, including complete beginners. We will start at 10am, so please arrive around 5 minutes before. As part of this workshop you will be served a delicious freshly baked scone, served with clotted cream and house made jam which comes with your choice of tea or coffee.

White Finch Bakery is a beautifully renovated farmyard barn, situated on Broomfield Fruit Farm in the heart of Meopham. Founded by Pippa, a talented baker of all the home baked cakes and pastries on offer, made with locally sourced ingredients and served on vintage crockery.

White Finch Bakery and Studio HOIME are collaborating to bring fun and rewarding craft sessions for locals and people outside of the community to come together. There is plenty of room in this stunning and tranquil space, but places on this workshop are limited to a maximum of 10 places. There is also free parking on site.

As this is a ticketed event, we have a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel before this time, we can provide a refund minus the Eventbrite fee (approx. 10%) which is non-refundable. If you cancel within 48 hours of the event unfortunately we cannot offer any refund, however you may transfer your ticket to a friend or I can arrange a DIY kit to be sent out to your address - just let us know the change in name/address.

Do I need to bring anything?

No, all materials are provided including aprons and gloves for those that wish to use them.

What is a terrarium?

It is a low maintenance mini garden planted in a glass jar for indoor use. As it is in glass, you can see all the layers which make it look decorative.

How long is the workshop?

Depending on the number of people, it takes between 1.5-2 hours going at a relaxed pace.

What plants do we plant in the terrarium?

We supply a variety of succulents, which are native to the desert and so require very little water to survive. You will be able to choose from a wide variety of textures and types.

Do you provide care guidelines?

Yes, you will take away some information about how to look after your terrarium at the end of the workshop.

I have a child, can I bring them along?

Yes, this is a family friendly activity for children aged 10+, you can either book a space for your child and yourself or book one space and do one terrarium together.

Are terrariums easy to look after?

Yes, succulents are notoriously low maintenance, however there are a few tips on how to keep them alive which I will share in the workshop.
