UCLan Music and Concrète present the first masterpiece of 20th Century Minimalist Composition Terry Riley’s ‘In C’.
It is a privilege for us to present Riley’s ‘In C’ in the beautiful visual and acoustic surroundings of the Grade 1 Listed Harris Museum & Art Galleryalongside our friends at Concrète. The performance will utilise the unique acoustic space, with the performers occupying the first floor space above the audience. Join us and listen to sounds of UCLan Music’s ensemble cascade from above, enveloping the audience with this seminal composition.
These performances will be introduced, arranged, and conducted by composers and artists Jon Aveyard and Joshua Horsley, with the opportunity to discuss the performance, piece, space, and minimalism immediately after each concert.
We welcome all audiences to appreciate this composition, free of charge, from the perspectives of music and art within the surroundings of one of Lancashire’s cultural centrepieces, The Harris.
