About this event

About this event

What is "domestic"? What does the physical space we inhabit mean to us? With what activities do we associate domesticity? How does it make us feel? What role do gender roles play in domestic life? How does our domestic life change when we move to another country?

We will addresse these and other questions during our next Tertulia Migrante!

Tuesday 9th August 2022, 4:00 PM (UK time)

10 Kingsgate Place, London NW6 4TA

FREE

Las Tertulias Migrantes are monthly social gatherings (in Spanish) in which we get together to have tea and talk about topics that we care about as Latin Americans. These are face-to-face informal spaces seeking to be a source of community learning, construction and transmission of knowledge. Las Tertulias Migrantes are facilitated by Anthropologist Cecilia Montero.

We welcome anyone between the ages of 18 and 99 who identifies as an immigrant in the United Kingdom, regardless of their gender, social status or occupation.

The topic of August is "Migrantes en Casa: lo Domestico en Practica" Come and chat with us about your experience of the home, we want to hear you!
