Event description

You never know where your career in teaching could take you.

With teaching you can travel internationally, experience different cultures and see the world, all while developing your career and increasing your earning potential.

Wherever you see yourself going, take the first step to your new horizon at the upcoming Tes International Jobs Fair.

It’s your chance to meet a host of international schools, all crying out for talented teachers just like you.

So, don’t miss your chance to see what new opportunities await you all over the world and right here at home.

At the event

Whether you’ve been actively looking for a teaching role overseas or you’re simply curious to find out more, this event is the perfect opportunity to get some advice, discover what it’s like to teach in another culture, meet potential employers for an informal chat and perhaps even get offered your next job.

The event is split over two days.

10am-4pm, Saturday 9 March 2019:

  • Browse and chat to the different schools at their stands in our exhibition area

  • Attend any interviews we have pre-arranged for you or are requested by schools on the day

  • Get advice on applying, interviewing and relocating for teaching jobs abroad

  • Hear from a number of international schools with school presentations throughout the day.

9am-4pm, Sunday 10 March 2019:

Further interviews will be held at the same venue on the Sunday. You will be advised by the school if they would like to interview you on this day, so please make sure you are available.

CPD Sessions:

  • Workshop A: No Passengers Permitted, Promoting Independent Learning | Marcus Cherrill

The lessons that have that ‘X factor’ are ones in which the students are not passive classroom passengers but are active learners, motivated to work independently or collaboratively and extend themselves as far as they can. This workshop explores how to prevent your students from becoming passengers in lessons, helps you set up lessons where the students work a lot harder than they have done before and offers practical, down-to-earth advice, tips and teaching techniques that have been proven to work.

  • Workshop B: Teacher Tech Top Up: Mobilising the Power of Technology to Improve Progress | Peter Dawes

With technology playing an ever-increasing role in education, it is vital to have a good working knowledge of how best to apply it. The workshop will consider not just the how, but more importantly, the WHY and the WHEN (Spoiler alert - when it can motivate, save time or improve on a pen and paper!). This session will be practical, hands-on and presented in plain English: the technically nervous need have no fear! Please be sure to bring along a device - a mobile phone is fine.

  • Workshop C: Growth Mindsets, Real and Sustained Achievement | Steve Garnett

Come and hear about actual classroom strategies you can use to implement a Growth Mindset culture in your classroom. Hear about the things that Professor Carole Dweck is concerned are misinterpreting her work. Come and hear about how Growth Mindset should be seen as a set of strategies used for certain situations not an overall state of being.
