Event description

Description

Teaching is a career that can really take you places. You can travel internationally and experience different cultures, all while developing your career. No matter where you long to teach or wherever you see yourself going, you can take the first step at the Tes International Jobs Fair.

It’s your chance to meet a host of international schools, who are looking to hand-pick exceptional teachers, just like you. We understand it’s a big decision to decide to teach overseas – it’s not just moving jobs, but moving your whole life – we’re here to inspire and connect you with the right opportunities.

Whether you’ve been actively looking for a teaching role overseas or you’re simply curious to find out more, this event is the perfect opportunity to get some advice, discover what it’s like to teach in another culture, meet potential employers for an informal chat and perhaps even get offered your next job.

The event is split over two days.

10am-4pm, Saturday 11 January 2020:

  • Browse and chat to the different schools at their stands in our exhibition area

  • Attend any interviews we have pre-arranged for you or are requested by schools on the day

  • Get advice on applying, interviewing and relocating for teaching jobs abroad

  • Attend free CPD sessions and hear from a number of international schools with school presentations throughout the day.

9am-4pm, Sunday 12 January 2020:

Further interviews will be held at the same venue on the Sunday. You will be advised by the school if they would like to interview you on this day, so please make sure you are available.

CPD Sessions:

During this interactive session, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the many ways that diversity strengthens the international school community. Together we’ll discuss the unique experiences international students have, how to recognise a Third Culture Kid (TCK) and how to embrace diversity the classroom. You’ll investigate the IB Learner Profile and learn how these characteristics can be used to strengthen their approach to embracing diversity in the international classroom. You’ll also leave with concrete strategies for working with diverse students in their school.

  • Developing SEND awareness and strategies to aid learning

Specifically designed to give you an understanding of the SEND code of practice. During the session, you’ll develop an understanding of two specific conditions - ASC and ADHD.
