Event description
A theatrical walking video tour that reveals how historical Bath scientists discovered the greatest secret of all time.

About this event

In 2164 the first Time Travel Agency opened in Bath after centuries of scientific innovation.

Test Tubes & Time Travel takes you through the extraordinary untold worlds of Bath’s scientific superheroes in an immersive theatrical walking tour of the city. Forget what they told you at school and take a trip with the first English Scientist to make imaginative leaps and experimental bounds through 1000 years of Bathonian breakthroughs.

This free video tour, created by award-winning Bath-based arts company Kilter and the University of Bath, visits special locations around the city centre where actual historical pioneers unwittingly laid the foundations for the greatest invention of all time.

Find and watch all the films to decode a puzzle and reveal the final piece of the jigsaw.

FUTURES: A FESTIVAL OF DISCOVERY WHERE YOU CAN EXPLORE THE PAST, CREATE THE PRESENT AND IMAGINE THE FUTURE.

Back for another year, FUTURES promises to bigger and better than ever before! Across Bath, Bristol, Exeter and Plymouth, this festival of discovery will be taking place on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 September 2021 as part of European Researchers’ Night.

For FUTURES2021 we are working right across the South West, with researchers from the University of Bath, Bath Spa University, University of Bristol, University of Exeter and University of Plymouth joining us.

FUTURES2021 may look a little different this year but our aim remains the same - to bring research to life in new and exciting ways. And with a whole host of events ranging from storytelling to panel discussions, science stand up, quizzes and a virtual research fair, there are plenty of ways to get involved!

Some events are ticketed, some are drop in and all are completely FREE.

You can find out more about FUTURES here: https://futuresnight.co.uk

This European Researchers' Night project is funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions.
