About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

It’s in the Bag is the Testicular Cancer Charity for the South West of England. We provide Support for patients and families, raise Awareness and celebrate Survival.

Our presentation explains what Testicular Cancer is, who are most likely to be affected and what happens should you receive a diagnosis. We talk about our own experiences, what the treatment regime is like and explore the emotional as well as the physical side of treatment and, hopefully, recovery.

Early diagnosis is critical for a better chance of recovery so we talk about what to look for, how to self check properly and what to do if you do think something is wrong. The good news is it is one of the most curable forms of cancer.

What we do at It’s in the Bag is the final part of the presentation; how we raise awareness, what support we offer and how we celebrate survival. There are also a couple of case studies.

Learning Outcomes are:

· Increased awareness of the most common form of cancer in young men.

· Breaking taboos about talking about balls.

· Being aware of the importance of regular checking.

· Knowing what to do when finding something isn’t right.

· Knowing where to go for support.

Please be mindful that you will receive a 10 day reminder email prior to the course start date which will include your MS Teams link to join the session. This is a dedicated link for your person and cannot be used by another person. If you are unable to attend, please let us know in the first instance.
