Innovation Birmingham and the Richardson Chamber of Commerce, Texas are hosting a free lunchtime event to enable Birmingham-based companies to find out about the opportunities in the ICT and tech sector within Texas.

Michael Skelton

Director of the Mayor's Office of International Business

Michael Skelton has over 30 years of technology business experience. He has raised millions of dollars of venture capital and private equity to start new technology companies and turnaround struggling businesses. He has been an executive in two technology company IPOs (Altos Computer Systems and Santa Cruz Operations) and has orchestrated several M&A transactions.

Mr. Skelton is currently the Vice President of International Business Development for the Richardson Texas Chamber of Commerce. He also heads up the Mayor’s Office of International Business for the Richardson Texas Economic Development Partnership. His responsibilities include recruitment of foreign companies (foreign direct investment) into the city of Richardson and assisting local companies with their globalisation and export initiatives.

His background includes being President and CEO of three start-up software companies. As a VP, General Manager and Director level executive he has lead sales, marketing, business development and field operations for several Silicon Valley companies. Mr Skelton's background also includes President/Founder of EstablishUS LLC, an international economic development consulting firm and executive level business consulting for two French companies and GA eXpress (a U.S. public company).

Michael Skelton has a degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University.
