Texture printing & zine-making workshop with Aghh! Zine

Join Aghh! Zine for a hands-on workshop where we will map our surroundings and create a zine with our findings.

This is part of our new Aghh! Zine Issue 04 “Money” series of workshops, where you will learn an easy and affordable technique you can use on your creative practice or just for fun. For ages: 10+ y/o (under 16 with parent or legal guardian).

Plan for the workshop:

We will meet at The Queery, where we will show you how to use the technique.

After the quick demonstration, we will spend the first hour walking around the area in a circular route, collecting our textures in the streets and neighbourhood, which we will then use later in our zine-making.

After texture mapping, we will return to The Queery for the second hour for the final stage: zine-making.

Who’s this workshop for?

This workshop is open to all artistic abilities. No experience is required. Come with an open and playful mind.

Please note: There will be gentle walking on slightly hilly areas.

All Materials will be provided.

Weather alternatives

If it’s raining, no worries! We will do the whole workshop inside The Query instead - there are plenty of textures there.

Accessibility

- The route will be accessible but expect some slope, as the neighbourhood area near The Queery has some hills.

Price

We will charge a small fee (£3) to cover materials. Any leftover money will be donated to The Queery by Aghh! Zine.

** If you really want to come but can’t afford it, please drop us a message. We don’t want anyone to be left out because of lack of funds.

Aghh! Zine is a zine created in the heart of Brighton and Hove, UK, by MNamug and Nuria Castro.

Our Aims are to create a safe space to discuss and investigate ourselves, society and subjects that are considered taboo or not mainstream.

We also aim to give a platform for new voices and easy access to publishing opportunities with a focus on queer, BIPOC and other underrepresented communities.
