Event description

Description

Watercolour is a flat medium, but you can bring a new dimension to your work using different texturing techniques. Learn how to use salt, cling film, colour sanding, masking fluid, splatter, sponging, dribbles, rinse aid etc to broaden your range. You will come away with a sample sheet of new effects and the session will be rounded off with a demonstration of how to use some of the techniques in an animal portrait. But don’t worry, these techniques can be applied to all watercolour paintings – from landscapes to still life.

Liz Chaderton is a professional watercolourist based in Hurst with a passion for painting animals. She paints in a loose, expressive style to try and capture the essence of her subject with the aim of helping people look with fresh eyes at animals we take for granted. Liz teaches regularly and contributes to The Leisure Painter magazine.
