Description

As part of TfGM’s Women on Wheels campaign we invite women & their families to a cycling themed fun morning featuring;

  • Free Dr Bike service
  • Free children’s cycling obstacle course
  • Free cycling themed games
  • Free opportunity to test ride an electric bike (18+ ID required)
  • Free information to take away on TfGM activities, local cycle routes, CERAcycloan & Stockport Community Cycling Club
  • Up cycled accessories made from bicycle parts for sale
  • Free light refreshments
  • Free led bike ride for families around the local area

The Plan for the Day

10am to 11:30am Dr Bike on-site bike maintenance service giving your families’ bikes a thorough check & making minor repairs, such as changing cables & tightening brakes (first come first served)

Dr Bike can only work on clean bikes

10:15am Games & children’s cycling obstacle course

10:30am FREE Light refreshments available

11:30am Assemble for family ride led by Stockport Community Cycling Club. As this is a family ride, men and children are welcome to participate with an adult female relative aged 18+. Children must be over the age of 9, be able to cycle up to 5miles & wear a helmet

11:45 Games & obstacle course close

12midday Event closes as the family group ride leaves. Experienced ride leaders will support the easy ride using cycle ways & roads around a 5mile circuit, taking in Alexandra Park and Cale Green Park.

We have limited space due to funding. Be sure to get your tickets as soon as you can!

Parents/carers are responsible for supervising their children

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

This is event is funded for women (18+)

Male relatives and children are welcome if accompanied by a women

Children must be aged 9+, able to cycle 5 miles & wear a helmet to participate in the led family ride



What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

2 mins walk from bus stops on Shaw Heath. Buses from Stockport, Hazel Grove, Bramhall & Cheadle Hulme www.tfgm/journey planner

15 mins walk from Stockport Train Station

Free car park on Green Street, limited spaces

What can I bring into the event?

Your bikes to use the Dr Bike service, children's cycling obstacle course & to participate in the led family ride

Please note children also need a helmet to participate in the led family ride

ID to prove 18+ is necessary in order to test ride an electric bike
