Overview

“Global mental health: the links between mental health and sustainable development”

Come join us for the Thackrah Lecture, where we will dive deep into the fascinating world of medicine and health!

The Thackrah lecture will be held on March 26th at 3p.m. at the Cloth Hall Court, Leeds. (https://conferencesandevents.leeds.ac.uk/cloth-hall-court/)

Our distinguished speaker will be Crick Lund, Professor of Global Mental Health and Co-Director of the Centre for Global Mental Health, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London and founding member of the Alan J. Flisher Centre for Public Mental Health, Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health, University of Cape Town. His research interests lie in mental health policy, service planning and the social determinants of mental health in low and middle-income countries.

This Lecture commemorates Dr Charles Turner Thackrah, one of the founder members of the Leeds School of Medicine in 1831, and his distinguished contribution to the study of the effects of occupation on health and longevity.

The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception.
