Teaching Computing

In association with “Computing At Schools”

GCSE Computing Options/Google App Inventor

OCR GCSE Computing - the impact so far

Teachers of local schools will discuss the impact of the OCR GCSE Computing at their schools and will provide hints and tips of how to avoid pitfalls and how to get the most out of the students. Sample teaching resources will be provided to anyone interested in running this course at their own school.

Google App Inventor

Writing an application for a mobile phone is an excellent way of motivating students!  The newly released Google App Inventor now makes this a 'breeze'.  We will show you how to set this up and get it running with your students.

Refreshments will be available from 4:00pm

Come and meet colleagues and share your ideas!

The “Computing At School” group (CAS) is a membership association run by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT and supported by Microsoft Research and other industry partners. It was created to support and promote the teaching of computer science and other computing disciplines in UK schools.  Our membership is broad, and includes teachers, examiners, parents, university faculty, and employers.
