About this event

As a thank you to our fantastic CUH volenteers, the Estates and Facilities team are inviting them to come behind the scenes of CUH and see the work our grounds and gardening team do.

Go behind (and under) the scenes with the Jon Patman (Environmental Services Manager) and Richard Hales (Energy and Sustainability Manager) to experience the wonders of the CUH boiler house, where you will learn about the healing journey. This includes boilers, steam mains, efficiencies, the plant room and the onward distribution of low-temperature hot water to radiators.

Meet inside the main Addenbrookes entrance and wear flat and closed-toe shoes.

Important things to note:

  • The tour takes you to multiple locations across the site, with some access to lifts.
  • The boiler rooms can be very noisy.
  • Photography is allowed, but please check with those in the photos that they are comfortable.
  • Please be there before the 12:00 set off as Richard and Jon will want to get started.
  • Please refrain from printing tickets - we will have your names to hand, or you can show the ticket emailed conformation.
