  • Continuous line drawing is where you draw without lifting your pencil from the paper. It fosters observational skills, and improves hand-eye coordination. This technique forces the artist to pay close attention to the subject matter and its lines, improving the ability to see and draw more accurately. The act of drawing without lifting the pencil can be a meditative practice, helping you to focus and become more present. Not only that, because the technique can produce quite fun images, it encourages artists to let go of the pressure to create "perfect" drawings and instead embrace the process of creation. We will explore using our non-dominant hand to draw, and also 'blind' continuous line, where you don't look at your paper at all during the drawing!
  • The Workshop will run for approximately two hours. We will be drawing a clothed life model. There will be a fifteen minute break for the model roughly half way. There will be light refreshments available. We can have a break too, or draw the interior of the book shop. We will also break five minutes before the end to have a chat and show each other what we've made over theworkshop. I will provide sketch books and pencils for the workshop, which are yours to take away at the end. Let's make some drawings together!
  • The hosting venue is an award wining local independant bookshop in Stewarton, The Book Nook. Parking is on street, and subject to availbility. The Book Nook is a five minute walk from Stewarton rail station, with regular services between Glasgow and Kilmarnock and beyond. There are bus links running past the front door of the book shop connecting neighbouring villages. The book shop has no steps, and is accessible. There are toilet facilities.
