Discover the extraordinary entertainment history of Leicester Square and enjoy exclusive guided access inside the iconic Hippodrome on this 90-minute walking tour.

We meet at the Statue of William Shakespeare at the heart of Leicester Square Gardens on 14th March 2026 at 11 AM (Europe/London). From there, we'll explore Leicester Square before heading to the Hippodrome, where we go inside for a guided visit.

For nearly 400 years, Leicester Square has been a space for the public. On this walking tour, trace its evolution from open fields to an elegant 17th-century residential square, and its shift in the 18th century towards entertainment. We'll explore inside the iconic Hippodrome and hear its extraordinary story - from its 1900 debut as an indoor circus, to a celebrated theatre, the glittering Talk of the Town, Peter Stringfellow’s ‘world’s greatest disco’, and today, Europe’s most popular casino.
