Description

This Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) event is a joint collaboration between Evelina London Children's Hospital, Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital Clinical Educators.

This extensive programme consists of a combination of presentations, interactive lectures, case studies and talks from parents and representatives from associated not-for-profit organisations. You will also have the opportunity to network, share examples of good practice, attend workshops and participate in our Q&A sessions.


This week long event will focus on a number of key issue areas, including:

  • Anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system
  • Pathophysiology and management of different heart conditions
  • Assessment and therapy strategies to minimise the long-term effects of CHD
  • ECG and dysrhythmias
  • The transition from paediatrics to adult care
  • Nursing and psycho-social implications
  • Cardiac support and heart transplantation
  • Ethical issues

Nurses of all grades and allied healthcare professionals involved in the care of children and adults with congenital heart disease are welcome to attend.

Internal staff ticket information

This course has a fee attached to it. Staff have the option to pay directly online or by invoice. If you wish to be invoiced, please use the cross-charge form attached to this page to allow a transfer of funds between departments. Your place will be classed as reserved until the cross-charge form has been completed and returned to Evelina Education. The invoice option is at your manager’s discretion. Cross-charge forms must be completed by yourself with your manager cc’d in confirming authorisation of transfer or entry will be denied.

External ticket information

External delegates have the option to pay directly online or by invoice. If you wish to be invoiced, please complete the booking agreement form attached to this page. Your place will be classed as reserved until the booking agreement form has been completed and returned to Evelina Education. Please note, a Purchase Order (PO) number must be attached to the form if you are from an NHS organisation in order for Evelina Education to generate an invoice to your organisation. All forms must be returned prior to the event or entry will be denied.

Eligibility

The Evelina Education Team reserve the right to not admit anyone in possession of the wrong ticket. All delegates must be eligible to attend GSTT courses, and the Evelina Education Team reserve the right to not admit anyone who has not shown evidence of a valid visa, work permit and work ID.
