What is at stake in this year’s European elections and in what way do the platforms and those who compete for our vote differ from each other? The purpose of this hustings-like event is to bring some candidates closer to the public so as to facilitate a debate (involving Birkbeck students) on (a) the alternative platforms on offer and (b) the implications of potential electoral outcomes for the lives of ordinary citizens across the European Union.
The event is organised under the auspices of Birkbeck’s MSc programme in European politics and policy, in association with the Department of Politics and the Centre for the Study of British Politics and Public Life at Birkbeck.
at Birkbeck.

Shahrar Ali (Greens)
Lucy Anderson (Labour)
Andrew McNeillis (UKIP)
Anuja Prashar (Liberal Democrat)
Richard Robinson (Conservative)
Chair: Dr Dionyssis G. Dimitrakopoulos (Birkbeck)
