The 2017 Felix Byam Shaw Celebration Event
50k Bike Ride, 10k Circular Walk and Hog Roast / Tea Party
Sunday 3 September 2017
1pm – 5pm
Felix's family and friends hold an annual event to celebrate the life of this wonderful boy, who was loved by so many and is missed so much. We can promise another fun day this year, based on the success of the past three years. This year we are trying something different - a 10k walk - as a new option.
1pm: 50k Bike ride for fit teens and parents
1.30pm: 10k Circular walk to Woodeaton and return to Islip
3.30pm - 5.00pm: Hog Roast and Tea Party for all friends, family and supporters, whether walking/cycling or not!
Registration is essential so we can run a well-organised and safe event and give you all the planning information you need as the event approaches. Please let us know which option you are choosing.
Volunteers are needed for marshalling and refreshment stops along the route and for catering roles at the Village Hall. Many of those who were marshals and helpers last year would like to ride or walk this year, so we would really appreciate fresh volunteers to take a turn!
Those of you who came in previous years will remember the fabulous food at the village hall, which was all donated by guests and supporters. Your delicious catering contributions will help make this year's celebration another gourmet experience. This year we will have a catered hog roast, but would love friends to bring cakes, biscuits and sandwiches. Please offer to contribute by entering ‘1’ in the relevant ‘ticket’ box when you register and we will be in touch to co-ordinate.
The organising team looks forward to welcoming you!

The Felix Project
The Felix Project is a London charity working with food suppliers and charities to reduce food waste and food poverty. We collect food from supermarkets, wholesalers and other food suppliers - food that is fresh and nutritious, but cannot be sold for various reasons. We deliver this food free of charge to charities which provide meals, snacks or food parcels for their clients, inducing the elderly, the homeless, people with mental health issues, refugees and asylum seekers and vulnerable families and children.
We simply want to see good food go to good causes
