Description

The universities of Stirling, Dundee, and Edinburgh are collaborating on a training programme in Book History available to all Arts and Humanities doctoral students in Scotland. After very successful workshops on the History of Reading in Stirling in December, and on Bibliography and Textual Scholarship in Edinburgh in January, the third and final workshop takes place at the University of Dundee on 1 April in the Dalhousie Building (in room 1G05).

The theme of the Dundee workshop is Manuscript, Print and Digital Culture, and will feature Dr Martine Van Ittersum (Dundee), Dr Anthony Mandal (Cardiff) and Dr Tom Mole (Edinburgh), along with Caroline Brown (Dundee Archives), who will be taking us through the unique holdings of the Brechin Collection. This will be a must-see, hands-on experience for all book historians!

Thanks to funding from the Scottish Graduate School for the Arts and Humanities and the host institutions, there’s no charge for the workshops, lunch is provided, and travel expenses can be reimbursed for all doctoral students except those from the home institution (Dundee). You do not need to have attended the previous workshops to come to the Dundee workshop, though we will, of course be very glad to welcome previous attenders back!

You MUST register in advance. Numbers are strictly limited.

best wishes,
