The 7 skills for the future

Being adaptable makes a difference between being ordinary and extraordinary. Being adaptable helps you to deal with change with grace and ease. The right critical thinking skills mean you'll be creative, resourceful and smart in an age of information overload and ambiguity. Living with empathy is crucial for having a nurturing a healthy, clear and meaningful relationship, not only with yourself but with others too. You need integrity to live a life aligned to values, accountability and making the right choices. Optimism and using positive psychology principles helps you create and live the life you want to lead. If you're proactive, grab opportunities and understand how to respond to what’s around you, rather than react, you will succeed. All of this requires resilience and strength, not least because we need to get better at failing and at persevering through setbacks and rejections.

ABOUT CHRIS DUDLEY

“Be more tomorrow than you are today”

Chris is a Life Coach and Founder of The Coach Collective. His aim is to bring together a group of coaches to support individuals challenged by their mental health. It was Churchill who famously coined the term 'the black dog' when describing his depression and Chris knew his personal challenges were a problem worth overcoming.

Using the tools and techniques of life coaching and therapy, Chris overcame his lifelong battle with OCD and depression and now he supports others to do the same. His story was recently featured in Happiful magazine, an industry publication focused on mental wellbeing and he is in the process of writing his first book ‘Be Perfect and Please People’ due for release in 2020.

Chris understand the importance of individuals connecting with and developing their soft skills and is proud to have had his work on limiting beliefs included in 7 Skills for the Future. Chris is an Associate of Unimenta where he shares his expertise in the field of coaching. Chris is a Licensed Trainer of The Advantage: 7 Skills for the Future workshop and was personally trained by author Emma-Sue Prince.

Chris’ goal is to change the way the UK deals with mental health so those 1 in 4 challenged can learn to live a better life and train their black dog to heel.

ABOUT EMMA-SUE PRINCE

“Love your work and you’ll never work another day”

Emma Sue Prince is a specialist in experiential learning and believes strongly that this methodology is key to developing life skills and soft skills as it is the only way to develop self-awareness, upon which all behavioural change is based. She delivers powerful workshops in this regard and does so with many different target groups including “closed” groups such as Muslim communities in Bangladesh and North Africa and diverse groups in the UK including lawyers, doctors and software engineers. She also trains trainers to facilitate using the same methodology. Her successful approach lies in working totally in the moment with a group and with what emerges from that group. She is passionate about a group developing their own context for skills such as empathy, adaptability and being proactive. In this way real and powerful learning outcomes emerge from which strategies, progression and ideas can be defined.

Emma Sue is committed to supporting young people and her workshops are also run with secondary schools, youth offending teams and with young people who are not in education, training or employment.

Emma Sue works in emerging and developing countries as well as in the UK training trainers, designing materials and providing consultancy on employability skills.

Her work has taken her all over the world and has given her a leading reputation in the field.
