About this event

  • 3 hours

This event is part of the New Mills Festival. It's a gentle step-by-step approach to putting pen to paper and building up the courage to go out there and capture the urban scene in New Mills. You’ll soon be hooked.

The workshop starts with a short presentation on what urban sketching is all about and a preview of the morning’s activities.

You’ll overcome your fear of drawing outside and build up some techniques that will set you on the road to becoming an urban sketcher.

We’ll meet at 10am sharp at the Rock Mill Centre, SK22 3BN. You can buy a drink here.

Bring your own materials. A pen and small sketchbook is all you need. If you have some watercolours that would be good. Something to sit on – a camping stool or similar – is a must.

Cancellation Policy. If there is a waiting list and I can fill your place with someone else there will be no charge for cancelling. If there is no waiting list then: You can cancel upto four weeks before the event then no charge; two weeks before then a 50% refund; after that no refunds, sorry.

It’s weather dependent. If it looks like a total washout then I’ll cancel the event and refund your ticket price, although not the Eventbrite booking fee, I’m afraid. I’ll let you know a few days before.

The £25 ticket price will have a small Eventbrite fee added.
