The Accountability Gap – Are the needs of Autistic people being met?
Event Information
About this event
As part of Red Harbour’s series of online forums exploring the issues affecting Scotland’s children and young people, we are proud to be hosting this vital event discussing the outcomes of the recent review into the Scottish Autism Strategy, with the support of Scottish Autism and National Autistic Society Scotland.
The recent review of the Scottish Government’s 10-year Autism Strategy was launched by the Scottish Cross Party Group on Autism (follow link here) - and over the course of a year, it heard directly from those with Autism and their families. The key objective of the Review was to develop a consensus on the key recommendations to be made to the Scottish Government and COSLA, which the Cross Party Group would like to see adopted when the strategy comes to an end in 2021. All with the main goal of assisting the lives of autistic people and their families.
This virtual event will bring together a panel of some of the leading experts in the field of Autism and its impacts, to explore these recommendations in detail and offer our audience an opportunity to share their own views.
Panel:
Charlene Tait, Deputy CEO, Scottish Autism
Nick Ward, National Director, National Autistic Society Scotland
Steve Billingham, Campaigner, Grandfather and Management Consultant
David Nicholson, Autism Campaigner and Musician
