The Acorn CCS Townhall Webinar
About this event
Acorn CCS is an exciting new carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction project which we plan to build at the St Fergus gas terminal. Do join us online for a lunchtime presentation covering the most recent technical, health and safety and commercial details of the project, followed by a live Q&A.
A little about the Acorn CCS project...
We are looking to use carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology to capture the greenhouse gas that comes from the St Fergus gas terminal and which is currently emitted into the atmosphere, we will be able to store that CO2 safely and permanently in a porous rock formation deep below the seabed in the Central North Sea.
Acorn CCS can be fully operational by the mid 2020's and because it uses infrastructure that, for the most part is already in place, it offers a cost-effective way to cut CO2 emissions and establish St Fergus as one of the UK’s first CCS hubs with an essential role to play in the North East energy transition.
