To build on the work of The Active Best Practice Network podcast series, we are planning a trio of free webinars, taking place in September December and February 2026. In these webinars we will be inviting local experts to share some best practice guidance, tips and resources with a short Q&A for attendees. These are aimed at sport and physical activity groups, the community or VCSE sector, plus anyone within our network who could benefit.

Part 1: Data Protection Refresher Webinar

Date: Tuesday 9th September 2025

Time: 12.30pm -13:30pm

Format:

  • Brief introduction of the Data Protection Act (DPA), with a refresher of the key areas.
  • An overview of any key information since the UK GDPR elements were introduced to the DPA in 2018.
  • Common challenges or queries in interpreting or applying the Data Protection Act, plus any updates of what may be coming next.
  • Short Q&A session

This is part 1 of a trio of webinars sharing best practice, tips and resources, on the topics of Data Protection, the use of AI and Martyn's Law (The Protection of Premises Act 2025).

Part 2 will be an introduction to AI on 8th December 2025, with part 3 providing an update for event planning using Martyn's Law (The Protection of Premises Act 2025) on 10th February 2026.

Bookings will be available through Eventbrite and each webinar will be advertised on the Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire events page.
