Description

The African Performing Arts School provides workshops on African Dance- Theatre, Storytelling and Drumming!!

The African Performing Arts School is a family organisation, a Jones Creative Arts Production. We are really excited to develop our educational and artistic programme.

Awa is the Educational coordinator at the African Performing Arts School. Trained as a Jazz, African, French Caribbean and Samba dancer, Awa qualified as an IDTA Dance and Performing Arts Teacher.

Born French and originally from West Africa, Guadeloupe and Brazil, Awa is passionate about African History.

This creative PGCE teacher has staged and choreographed various pieces for children in schools and holiday camps for 10 years.

Supported by professional West African, Mozambique, Samba or Caribbean drummers beating the rhythm of African civilizations while the students act, dance & sing.

African Performing Arts play a cross- cultural and fun learning environment; a 'whole theatre' which integrates and unites 'Sound and Action' to convey meaning and emotions portrayed in life- cycle.

The African Performing Arts School requires resources such as drums, percussions and props to offer a more beneficial and professional range for the students but also for the African Performing Arts team.

For more information, contact Awa, the Educational Coordinator at African Performing Arts School on 07941 568459 or aginetjones@hotmail.co.uk, find us on Facebook @African Performing Arts School
