Event description

Description

Tara Guinness and Rosie Reed invite you to The Amber Room.

A delectable, sumptuous, visual experience open to twelve guests each evening from the 18th-21st of September 2019 at an undisclosed location in Notting Hill, London. The exhibition has been curated by Rosie Reed and the menu designed and cooked by Tara Guinness.

The original Amber Room is one of the largest missing treasure trove mysteries in history. It was dismantled and eventually disappeared during World War II. We have created our own Amber Room, a delectable haven of food and art for people to enjoy.

Please join us for a delicious four course dinner made up of seasonal, British ingredients, paired with wine and inspired by the discovery of hidden treasure. Peruse, admire and dine within a sanctuary of exquisite work made by forty emerging artists with varied practices and an array of mediums including ceramics, glasswork, embroidery, painting, photography and sculpture. All the art that enriches the room and adorns the table will be available to buy.

Tara Guinness is a professionally trained chef with a diploma from Leith's School of Food and Wine in London. With traditional French culinary training under her belt she moved to India where she worked in remote hotel kitchens. Once back in the UK Tara worked in restaurants for three years before starting Tara Cookery, providing private cooking lesson in peoples homes and group classes in Notting Hill. She is also co-founder and chef of The Feconomy, a female fuelled events company which uses ingredients from female food suppliers.
