Event description

On December 8 the Amhara Agricultural Forum 2016 (AAF '16) was held, jointly organized by SMIS, AgroBIG and One Acre Fund. The outcome of the workshop was that the most important thing is to continue the Forum.

The Amhara Agricultural Forum (AAF) is an inclusive national mechanism enabling all those concerned with the future of agriculture and its role in development around Amhara region to come together and address key regional needs. AAF will provide an open forum for stakeholders across the agricultural spectrum—from researchers and organizations to farmers—to participate in collaborative discussion and action around the current and future state of agriculture.

The aim of this Forum 2017 is, therefore, to share our project results, plans and research and explore the potential for future collaboration in the Amhara region. The Forum will have presentations from a variety of organizations working in Amhara. Topics will range

  • from rain-fed and irrigation agriculture to postharvest,
  • from agricultural mechanization to agricultural intensification,
  • from agricultural inputs to environmental pollution,
  • from value chains to crop production,
  • from gender to marketing and export.
  • Watershed Management for food security

The Forum will be held in the Bahir Dar, Amhara, Ethiopia. Advanced registration is a must so please make sure you register today at Eventbrite.

We are making a conference booklet about all the visiting organizations. Please send us your logo and a story of max. 400 words about your organization before the 30th of December 2017.
