Description

Music producer, record label owner, manager and event organiser, Joe Boyd happened to be in the right place at the right time – Bob Dylan goes electric at the Newport Festival, Pink Floyd in London in 1967. He produced some of the great records of the 1960s and 1970s, including Fairport Convention’s Liege & Lief, acknowledged in polls as the best folk rock album ever made, and the enigmatic Nick Drake, and was one of the first to promote the genre of World Music.

He once said that at the beginning of the 1960s there was something like an aircraft hangar empty of cultural artefacts but by the end it was already filling up leaving little room for the following decades. Joe Boyd considers the legacy of the 1960s…
