We have Lizzie Crowley (CIPD Apprentice Levy Expert) and Peter Train (Apprentice Development Manager – University of Cumbria) to help deliver this learning experience on Wednesday 12 July 2017 at the University of Cumbria in the Carlisle Business Interaction from 12 noon to 6 pm.  Lunch and refreshments are included.

 

Learning Outcomes:

 

  1. Understand more about the apprenticeship levy (whether your business is paying or not);
  2. Learn more about new apprenticeship standards and how they are developed;
  3. Understand how the CIPD is lobbying government on behalf of employers and the HR profession;
  4. Get involved in developing degree apprenticeships with the University of Cumbria;
  5. Understand the impact of the levy on smaller businesses (it will have an impact) e.g. why are the apprentice frameworks I previously had disappearing?
  6. Understand more about the Digital Apprenticeship Service, and Register of Approved Training Providers;
  7. Understand about funding caps and funding bands;
  8. Understand about frameworks and standards and how these are being managed by Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy.

How we are utilising the Levy – HR Lead from Top Business in Cumbria sharing good practice

2.30pm to 3.15pm

Edge funding - outline in detail the offer the Edge can make and details of the funding available. Completed by LEP and Edge Funding representative

3.15pm to 4pm

Refreshments and Networking

4pm to 5.45pm

Peter Train - Developing degree apprenticeships in Cumbria – what do Cumbrian Businesses Need? CIPD and University of Cumbria Representatives to deliver a session facilitated session engaging with Employers on their possible future requirements

5.45 - 6pm
