Event description

Description

The levy came into action in April 2017, where businesses with an annual pay bill of over £3 million pay 0.5 per cent of their payroll as a levy to fund new apprentices and train existing staff. Smaller businesses are not be required to pay the levy – but are be obligated to contribute in other ways. So many businesses are paying their Apprenticeship Levy but still don't truly understand the scheme.

Apprenticeships more popular with employers than ever before, over 509,400 workplaces in England now employ apprentices because they understand the benefits they bring to their business – increased productivity and improved competitiveness.

This breakfast event will give you the opportunity to discuss how your business can benefit from the changes in apprenticeships and address many questions like:

1. How can your organisation make the most of the Levy changes?
2. What benefits can an apprentice bring to your organisation?
3. Are there any skills gaps in your organisation that could be filled by an apprentice?
4. Are there opportunities to develop and up skilling current staff to support and mentor apprentices?
5. What plans are in place to replace the aging workforce?
6. What is the return on investment?

The event will also provide information about the support available to help you recruit an apprentice by simplifying the process to access training and funding and assisting with your recruitment needs to help you find the most suitable candidates.
