The Archaeology of Myth and Legend

It’s October, which means All Hallows Eve is just around the corner. And on Dartmoor and in the darkening lowlands of South Devon, myths are coming to life. Bowerman hunts in the woods, Pixies flit through the forests, parsons are turned to stone, Romans march on long-lost roads, and hounds can be heard baying in the moonlit wastes.

But, where do these stories come from?

In this talk, Jowan will be telling us where many of these stories come from, and their relationship to archaeology, to show that there may be some grains of truth in these stories after all.
