The Architects Underground is an all-new live event experience from RIBA that celebrates creativity through the lens of architecture.

On Wednesdays, the iconic 66 Portland Place comes alive with some of the most incredible minds across art, film, music, design and, of course, architecture.

This Wednesday 19th February, The Architects Underground return with a show about the future in collaboration with Epic Games.

Keynote speakers are Ken Pimentel from Epic Games (Unreal Engine, Fortnite) and Xavier de Kestelier, Head of Design Technology and Innovation at Hassell, who led the team which was shortlisted by NASA to design the world's first human home on Mars.

Ken Pimentel takes us back in time to the Sistine chapel and Nefertiti showing how real-time technology can create a time machine capable of delving into the past or leaping into the future, using Unreal Engine, the power behind Fortnite.

WTF…Is Fortnite? Journalist and tv presenter Jordan Erica Webber will address the craze behind the game phenomena.

Creative technologist Q presents “The Green Matrix” – DON’T MISS HIS LIVE VR DEMOS IN THE TAU LOUNGE POST SHOW.

Urban designer and comedian Nic Monisse returns to the underground with “What the F*** is happening in…Australia?”, sharing his vision of what local dwellings would look like if they'd been built for the scorching weather. If he had a time machine, how could it have been avoided?

Plus a Robot Comic, Poetry, Music, Architects Cocktail and the fabulous Caleb Femi hosting.

Bar opens at 6pm, show starts at 7pm. Drinks and snacks available.

Entry to The Architects Underground events is free to RIBA members. £4 for students and £12 for non-members.
