Event description

Description

As part of Cinema Rediscovered this year we will be running a practice-based afternoon, presented with the Independent Cinema Office, looking at different approaches to presenting screen heritage events.

Hear from a range of exhibitors working with archive film in interesting ways from small scale screenings to epic immersive experiences. Discuss challenges and opportunities around engaging audiences with specialised film and explore the potential of working with regional archives to develop inventive screen heritage programmes. Guest speakers will include: Compass Presents, Flatpack Projects, Come the Revolution, Windrose Rural Media Trust and the South West Film and Television Archive.

This workshop is free to members of the BFI Film Audience Network and we're delighted to offer members the opportunity to purchase a discounted pass (£50 instead of £80 full price) for Cinema Rediscovered via: http://bit.ly/2qvT2pn

Cinema Rediscovered returns to Bristol and the surrounding region for a second year, bringing the finest digital restorations, contemporary classics and film print rarities back where they belong, on the big screen at cinemas including Watershed and Clevedon’s Curzon Cinema & Arts.

Tea and Coffee will be available from 12.30pm in Waterside 1 before the session kicks off at 1pm.

There will be a drinks reception as part of the Opening Night of Cinema Rediscovered at 5pm, following the session, sponsored by Studio Canal and Park Circus.
