Event description

Description

'To look is to listen, To gaze is to think.'

When we or the group with which we are working have a question or issue, especially one for which there is no obvious answer, we tend to approach it ‘head-on’ through our minds. We often privilege our thinking over our sensuous, embodied experience.

For this Parking Chart event, we invite you to gather at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum to experiment with taking a more embodied approach to questions/issues that embraces sensations, movement and emotions as well as thought.

We will use the space and art within the museum to look sideways at a question, with the aim, not of finding ‘the answer’ but of living the question by attending to what we are experiencing and seeing in the here-and-now. This session will also provide an opportunity to explore different ways to use art as a facilitator.

This participative event will be facilitated by Chris Partridge, one of the facilitators at Kinharvie Institute.

When?

Thursday, 1 February, 2018.

We will meet at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum Reception Desk earlier than normal at 2pm. The session will finish at 5pm.

Afterwards, you are also invited for a drink/something to eat at a local bar.
