The Art of New Business is back in Bournemouth!
Silicon Beach is returning to Bournemouth this September for the fourth consecutive year. It is bringing 21 of the UK’s leading thinkers from the world of advertising and digital innovation, along with an audience of hundreds, into the town once again to share knowledge, opinions and expertise in a venue situated just metres from the actual beach. And in the weeks running up to the two-day advertising and digital innovation, Bournemouth will stake its claim as the UK’s fastest-rising creative and digital hotspot by playing host to a programme of complimentary events, including: The Business of Web Design; She Who Dares, Wins; Once Upon A Time; Think Create Do! and us, The Art of New Business.
After a stunning event last November, we are delighted to have been invited back as part of the Silicon Beach fringe.
Come and join us in the inspiring offices of Amigo Loans on the evening of 15th September for a rare opportunity to gain insight and inspiration on how to win new business from leading agencies, client-side marketers and new business experts.
The Art of New Business represents 'challenger thinking' in the field of agency new business. We believe new business is an art, not a numbers game.

Ferrier Pearce Creative Group is an independent Group of creative and marketing consultancies, made up of Kolab, Key and Ferrier Pearce. They provide marketing communications and digital marketing services for consumer and B2B organisations in both private and public sectors. With specific expertise in property and construction marketing, corporate branding, environmental marketing, finance, rewards and benefit communications and employee communications, we were struck by how seriously they took their own marketing so we invited them to share the secrets of their success and what is working for them in terms of marketing themselves and attracting new business.
Nigel studied graphic design at Harrow and Goldsmiths College, University of London. Since the formation of Ferrier Pearce in 1991, Nigel has been at the core of communications design, branding and marketing strategy including the development of the Mercer Elect brand, Wembley and Greenwich Peninsular for Quintain Estates and Development, Park Central regeneration in Birmingham for Crest Nicholson and the UK’s first three zero carbon developments.
Nigel is particularly effective at achieving stakeholder engagement and enthusing those who work with him to share his passion and vision. This is reflected in award wins including the PIPA Communications Consultant of the Year and two European Pension Awards for Communications. Nigel has also inspired his team who have gone on to win a Green Design Award, two DBA Effectiveness Awards, and two Digital Impact Awards.
"Fortunately I thrive on change. In our industry, the speed of change is the challenge. I'm in my element."

Sarah is one of the founders of TAONB, and runs a business development consultancy based in Manchester, working with agencies in the UK and the US. Previously to setting up her consultancy and The Art of New Business, Sarah worked agency side, heading up the new business functions for agencies including TBWA\ and McCann Worldgroup.
TAONB conducted interviews with leading client side marketers in the UK, asking them for their thoughts on agency prospecting methods, and what really works for getting on their radar. Sarah will share the shocking results of this survey with you, and asks the question, "why are many agencies alienating the prospects they are trying to impress".
Learn how to become a magnet for new business, and attract clients to your agency, rather than having to knock on doors.
When & Where
The Art of New Business
The Art of New Business is a collaborative network of like-minded individuals set up by Karla Morales-Lee and Sarah Bradley. Our focus is on finding new ways of winning business, and giving support and advice to each other. We run events in London and Manchester for new business executives, managers and directors working in the creative sector. For each event we select speakers who can inspire our network to think differently about what they do and how to do it. We want to lead the search for ‘a better way’. That means better people, better processes, better tools and better results. Bringing in new business for your agency can often be a lonely, high pressured job, so this network has been set up to support and inspire those of you facing daily pressure to bring in new business, often in silo from the rest of their organisation.
