About this event

This webinar will explore how art challenges gender inequality for women and can change policy. It will enable us to ask if the arts change the gender disparity in nurse leadership.

Dr. Marion Lynch will invite all to consider the current challenges to women’s health via the arts, and ask how we may shorten the world’s path to achieving equity from the current 131 years.

Through the example of the art of Paula Rego and the work of Global Health 5050, Dr. Marion Lynch and colleagues from health and the arts will share the impact of art on women’s health and heighten women’s voice in health and in nursing.

Paula Rego was a storyteller and her gift of narrative brings nightmarish tales of real life to life. An artist and feminist, her words and pictures on women’s health and well-being have challenged norms and changed national policy.

This is our seventh Art of Nursing Webinar. These webinars are in partnership with Foundation of Nursing Studies and showcase how nurses and artists are working together to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our webinars fit into your busy life, designed so that you may listen on the go or join us whilst you take a moment, and we have a fire side chat.

Our webinars are engaging hour-long fire side chats (no slides allowed), bringing interesting people and innovative ideas together to show what is possible and how the arts help us deliver sustainable goals.
