We are excited to partner with renowned ceramic artist Caroline Winn for our 2025 exhibition titled The Art of Renewal. Together, we have curated a selection of six pieces from her collection that embody a confluence of themes, much like the Thames itself. This collection serves as a meeting point for sustainability, migration, and cultural memory, reflected in sculptural works crafted from clay, salt, and materials found along the Thames. The Art of Renewal reminds us that through intentional creation and curation, even the smallest object can hold significant meaning. Sustainability begins with what we choose to see, preserve, and repurpose, giving new life to reclaimed materials. The Haven, our welcoming lobby with expansive views of the Thames, serves as a reflective backdrop for “The Art of Renewal” exhibition by Caroline Winn.
This exhibition features six pieces selected from her various series:
- Salt Series: Sculptures that explore salt as a metaphor for migration, travel, memory and ecological transformation.
- Riverine Series: Sculptures incorporating objects reclaimed from the banks of the Thames through mudlarking, giving these materials new purpose.
Join us for a special workshop as part of The Art of Renewal exhibition. The evening begins with a multimedia talk by Caroline Winn exploring themes of transformation and renewal, followed by a hands-on sensory sketching session inspired by a mudlarked object. No prior art experience needed - just curiosity and creativity.
Participants who join us will also be offered a series of discounts on experiences at the hotel:
