In the style of Topolski, we present an exciting series of dynamic reportage drawing workshops happening in central London at different places and events on the last Saturday of each month. You will be provided with a brief and location a week prior to the event, which will take place somewhere within Central London. A drawing board, cartridge paper and pencils are provided but you are very welcome to bring your own supplies too.
Learn how to draw in-situ in the midst of a busy London scene, chosing what details to add in or leave out. These workshops are designed to engage you with using art to document events in the same way a journalist would, providing a new look at the city and a peek into the world of using drawing as documentation, from quick sketches to rich scenes full of detail.
Run by fellows of the Chronicle Residency Programme, these sessions are a great opportunity to speak to former residents about their experiences, and to learn from young reportage artists who are carrying on in the footsteps of artists such as Feliks Topolski, Paul Hogarth and Daumier.
