Event description
The Arty Party is a Preview Event to celebrate the launch of RedPod Arts resident Artists Carly Jones and Nicky Sheppard's joint exhibition.

About this Event

Come and join us as the Arty Party returns, to celebrate the joint launch and exhibition of RedPod Arts residents Carly Jones and Nicky Sheppard, along side work from visiting artists in the unique setting of The Clay Factory. On the evening there will be drinks and nibbles, the opportunity to speak to our artists about their latest work, plus the chance to explore our unique and historic building.

About Carly Jones - Carly Jones is one of the original collaborators of RedPod Arts. For the past two years her work has taken on the subject of mental well-being in society, and she has hosted a range of dialogical art events exploring the subject of suicide and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as part of her MA research at Plymouth College of Art.

Carly's exhibition is a culmination of her research and she will be displaying the exhibits Postcards From PTSD, Plymouth 24 and Dirty Laundry.

About Nicky Sheppard - Nicky Sheppard is an experimental photographer who is drawn to observing the unseen elements in nature. .. "The detail and complex forms that can be found through the lense of a camera are often breathtaking, resulting in images that can only be described as surreal. I love producing pictures with an impressionistic feel, leaving the viewer wondering whether it is a photograph or a painting."

Nicky's exhibition will see her open up her studio to the public as part of the Shaf Arts Trail which is taking place Saturday 12th October to Sunday 20th October, 10am - 4pm.

On the evening there will also be the chance to meet and greet our other artists at The Clay Factory/RedPod Arts as our residents will have their studios open. Other artists include:

World Around Ewe

Christine Bangert

Michele McQuinn Farrand

Helen Coakes-Blundell

Ermestone Leather

Ivybridge Crafters

We are very excited to see the return of art events in our wonderful building and we would like to invite you to join us in what is set to be a wonderful evening of art, food & culture.

One that will be a sign of things to come up at RedPod Arts.
