The Pupillage Fair is the only recruitment fair run by the Bar, for the Bar of the future, and is free to attend. It forms a key part of the Bar's commitment to fair access and to a meritocratic culture, regardless of background. This year's Fair will be attended by over 70 chambers, employed Bar organisations and Bar affiliated organisations; and by over 400 barristers.

The Bar Council is proud to be running this year's Fair in association with King's College London. Its Bush House Buildings provide world class facilities, including a 395 seat auditorium, lecture theatres, teaching rooms and a rooftop suite with unparalleled views across London.

We are equally grateful to be supported by the following Specialist Bar Associations: The Chancery Bar Association ('ChBA'), the Commercial Bar Association ('COMBAR'), the Criminal Bar Association ('CBA'), the Family Law Bar Association ('FLBA'), the Employment Law Bar Association ('ELBA') and the Technology and Construction Bar Association ('TECBAR'). Their support enables us to tailor exhibitor space according to practice area, and run targeted panel sessions on specific areas of law.

Event Programme - The number of sessions at this year's Fair has almost doubled - we will deliver:

  • Meet the Young Bar - in partnership with The Bar Council Young Barristers' Committee
  • Building your CV
  • The Application Clinic
  • BSB: Future Bar Training - in partnership with The Bar Standards Board
  • Exploring Different Practice Areas
  • Life at the Chancery and Commercial Bar - in partnership with The Chancery Bar Association, The Commercial Bar Association and The Technology and Construction Bar Association
  • Funding and Support from the Inns of Court - in partnership with The Inns of Court
  • Life at the Criminal Bar - in partnership with The Criminal Bar Association
  • How to Get Pupillage - Insider Tips on Making a Successful Application
  • Life as a Civil Law Barrister - in partnership with The Employment Law Bar Association and The Technology and Construction Bar
  • Life at the Employed Bar - in partnership with The Bar Council Employed Barristers' Committee
  • Life at the Family Law Bar - in partnership with The Family Law Bar Association
  • Career Changers
  • Applicants with a Disability
  • I am the Bar

All sessions will be recorded as podcasts and used as careers resources, particularly for aspiring barristers who are unable to attend the event.

The questions we ask when attendees register to attend the Pupillage Fair help us to ensure that we attract exhibitors, and design sessions, to meet the needs of all attendees.

Delegate details are shared with our sponsors, King's College. This is for security purposes only. Details will not be used for any other purposes, or shared with any other business relationships.
