Description

Putting the spotlight firmly on the next generation of pioneering women is the aim of The Baton Awards. The Awards will celebrate women who may have overcome a personal barrier, enhanced their local community, performed an act of bravery, excelled in a volunteering role or pushed the boundaries in industry in some way. All attending the event will witness female achievers in all industries and backgrounds being handed a Baton by the original game-changers; our torchbearer’s. More than just an award, this is an inspiring, motivating and very meaningful gesture.

With event hosts confirmed as ITV's Charlene White and Sky's Gillian Joseph, the event is set to assemble the words brightest BAME figures in the stunning setting if The Houses of Parliament.

Why The Baton Awards? We believe that when an individual is inspired by one who paved the way before them, they ‘take the baton' ready to pass on to the generation after. This, is the circle of progress that The Baton Awards is based firmly upon. We would like to simultaneously acknowledge the U.K’s female BAME achievers whilst also honouring some the role models whom have made their achievements possible by paving the way.

The Baton Awards are the platform for recognising BAME women in Britain. the awards will Celebrate BAME women of Past, Present and Future by acknowledging Britain’s BAME pathfinders and inspiring future pioneers across diverse sectors.

‘The Baton Awards is a wonderful moment to recognise genuine and consistent commitment from individuals who are fighting to build a stronger more generous society. I was thrilled to discover the Baton Awards and honoured to get involved in enabling better recognition of people's character as well as BAME activity and in my own small way, to add to someone's compelling effort, my humble respect and appreciation.’ Lord Dr Hastings of Scarisbrick CBE

A percentage of funds raised on the evening will go to registered children’s charity, Strength With In Me Foundation (S.W.I.M); the Domestic Abuse charity that works toward building a generation of empowered females, shining a spotlight on BAME women specifically.
