Although the batteries are long gone, a portion of the original Castle Clinton, the military fort built for the War of 1812, still stands. Now surviving over two centuries despite being close to demolition six separate times, this structure has served in a surprising number of functions: world class theatre venue, exhibition hall, beer garden, immigration office, even as the city aquarium. The surrounding park area includes access to the Museum of Jewish Heritage, waterfront monuments and gardens, an under-the-sea themed carousel, and views of Lady Liberty in her New York Harbor.

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We're travelling to Brooklyn with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and amazing guide.
