A riot during the Forty Hours Strike in Glasgow in January 1919, the Battle of George Square is routinely claimed to be one of the most iconic events in Scottish working-class history, which over the past century, has also become the most mythologised - a process which began at approximately 12.30pm on Friday 31 January 1919.
