The BCWS Christmas Extravaganza Tasting Evening
Event Information
About this Event
Well, 2020 was quite a year wasn't it?
We think we all need something a bit special to cheer us all up, as we look forward to everything 2021 is going to bring us.
So what happened in 2020 then? Well, to make sure we've continued to present great tasting events, the Black Country Whisky Society wend completely online and virtual, spending most of this year putting on, what we think were great online tasting evenings, all with your help and support and for that we'll always be very grateful.
As a bit of a further 'thank you', we're now going to end the BCWS year with a fairly incredible range of 6 x wonderful bottlings, all available to you in 25ml samples, carefully and lovingly packaged and delivered direct to your door for what we think is unbelievable value when you see what we have to offer.
Hopefully this tasting may just provide an opportunity to try whiskies we might not otherwise either find or perhaps normally afford without an audible grinding of the teeth!
So without further ado we'd like to present the following tasting range:
1. Bailie Nicol Jarvie - Blended Whisky (40% ABV)
2. The Old Malt Cask - Littlemill Distillery (1991 Bottling) 19yr Old Single Malt Whisky (50% ABV)
3. Signatory Vintage - Clynelish Distillery (1995 Bottling) 23yr Old Single Malt Whisky (57.7% ABV)
4. Benriach Distillery Dark Rum Cask(1997 Bottling) 19yr Old Single Malt Whisky (50.8% ABV)
5. Douglas Laing X.O.P Single Cask - Jura Distillery (1991 Bottling) 25yr Old Single Malt Whisky (50.2% ABV)
6. Dramfool 'Avian Gul' (Lagavulin Distillery) (2008 Bottling) 8yr Old Single Malt Whisky (59.2% ABV)
If you know your whisky, you'll easily identify some pretty amazing, and increasingly rare, bottles here, and if you don't know you're whisky, we think this is a great opportunity to come into the world of whisky and sample examples a few steps up the 'whisky ladder', as it were!
As usual, the event will be hosted via our usual Zoom format, and meeting details being provided via Eventbrite email closer to the day.
As it's Christmas, we're also making rare availability to our distinct Black Country Whisky Society Glencairn tasting glasses, incorporating our unique Celtic cross logo. Treat yourself. We think you're worth it!
The event will be hosted by the good folk at the Black Country Whisky Society, and as usual, there'll be the usual great blend of serious whisky tasting, observation, comment and opinion...but those who've been to our events before will know this is never too far away from a bit of fun, new and reacquainted friendships, great laughs, cracking whisky and best of all, wonderful company throughout the evening...and early morning, as has been known!
Again, we're more than happy to ship to the Republic of Ireland and Europe (under the definition of the UK Post Office parameters) for this event. We really have some great friendships from here now, which is wonderful.
All that said, we're hoping to see you with us again and say farewell to 2020 (at last) until we hopefully see you all again in February 2021(all things being equal).
Sláinte!
